报告人简介：
王嘉平，美国明尼苏达大学教授，美国数学会会士。他本科和硕士毕业于华东师范大学，1994年在美国加州大学欧文分校取得博士学位，1999年开始在明尼苏达大学工作，于2005年任教授，并在2011-2015年间任明尼苏达大学数学及其应用研究所（IMA）副所长。王嘉平教授的主要研究领域为微分几何与偏微分方程，在流形的谱估计、Ricci孤立子、三维流形数量曲率估计方面做出了很多深刻的工作，相关成果发表在Ann. of Math., J. Eur. Math. Soc., J. Differential Geom., Amer. J. Math. 等著名期刊。
报告内容：
We aim to provide an overview of our joint work with Ovidiu Munteanu concerning the geometry and analysis of three dimensional manifolds with scalar curvature bounded from below. Topics include monotonicity formulas, volume and scalar curvature estimates, as well as a comparison theorem for the bottom spectrum.
