报告人简介： 王强，AWI终身研究员，于2000、2003年获得复旦大学本科和硕士学位，2007年获得德国不莱梅大学博士学位，2018年获得AWI终身研究员职位，为AWI第一位也是目前为止唯一一位获得终身科研职位的华裔科学家。其从博士生开始从事新一代海洋海冰模式的开发工作，为不规则网格海洋海冰耦合模式FESOM第一代产品的核心开发成员。目前主要科研方向为极地海洋的变率和变化机制及影响，以及FESOM的相关应用。其在模式开发、模式评估、极地海洋和海冰研究等相关领域发表SCI论文90余篇。目前任Geoscientific Model Development、Frontiers in Marine Science及Advances in Climate Change Research期刊编辑。
报告内容： Despite the fact that the Arctic Ocean is the smallest among the five world ocean basins, it plays a crucial role in regulating the large-scale ocean circulation, climate and weather. Its changes can also strongly influence marine life and human activities. Over the past few decades, especially since the turn of the 21st century, the Arctic Ocean has experienced radical changes as shown by sea ice decline, ocean warming, liquid freshwater accumulation, weakening in halocline stratification and increase in oceanic connectivity with lower latitudes. CMIP6 projections indicate that such changes will continue under climate warming and current abnormal events could become normal in the future. This talk will review our understanding of the variability and changes in the Arctic Ocean physical environment and their driving processes. |
