           Karl Anker Jørgensen,奥尔胡斯大学教授。在不对称催化领域享有极高声誉和重要影响力的国际著名有机化学家、丹麦皇家科学与文学院&技术科学院双院院士、瑞典皇家科学院院士。


报告内容:

This lecture will unveil how organocatalysis is paving the way for novel advancements in the field of cycloadditions. Beginning with the concept of one-single catalyst, it will be shown how one small, but powerful catalyst can simultaneously control both diastereo- and enantioselectivity in cycloadditions. This capability allows the formation of all stereoisomers of cycloadducts with 2 and 3 stereocenters, unlocking new possibilities for creating complex, stereochemically rich structures. Next, the lecture will take a step forward by expanding the scope of cycloadditions, moving beyond the classical 4π or 6π electron systems to include reactions involving up to 16π-electrons. This leap opens the door to novel classes of cycloadditions, offering unprecedented opportunities for synthetic chemists to design more intricate and diverse molecular architectures. These new cycloaddition reactions are driven by a powerful synergy between experimental and computational chemistry, which allows for control over the reaction pathways. Choosing the right organocatalyst is pivotal in managing the balance of peri-, regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselectivity, ensuring that the desired molecular structure is achieved with maximum efficiency and selectivity. Throughout the lecture, several examples will be presented, showcasing the creation of complex molecular architectures and highlighting their potential applications, such as in bioactivity studies. These examples will demonstrate how organocatalytic cycloadditions might shaping the future of sustainable chemistry and drug discovery.
