报告人简介:

Prof. Jishan Wu (吴继善) received BSc degree in chemistry from Wuhan University(1997), MSc degree from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2000,with Xianghong Wang and Fosong Wang), and PhD degree from Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research (2004, with Klaus Müllen). He conducted postdoc study in the University of California at Los Angeles (2005-2007, with Sir Fraser Stoddart)and then joined the Department of Chemistry,National University of Singapore (NUS) as an assistant professor in 2007. He was promoted to a full professor in 2017 and now is the Provost’s Chair Professor. In recent years, his group has done intensive research on open-shell singlet diradicaloids, 3D global aromaticity, and topological molecular carbons. He holds more than 370 publications, which total citations of about 30,000 (H index: 87 based on Google Scholar). He has received 20+awards including the Singapore Young Scientist Award (2010), NUS Young Researcher Award (2012), NRF Investigatorship (2019), Andrews Lectureship (2024), and International Organic Chemistry Foundation Yoshida Prize (2025). He is currently an Editorial Advisory Board member of the two premier chemistry journals, JACS and Chem.

报告内容:

The lecture will cover the following four related parts:(a)open-shell singlet diradicaloids, in which aromaticity serves as a major driving force for the appearanceof open-shell diradical character; (b) macrocyclic diradicaloids, in which both Hückel rule and Baird rule are applicable depending on the spin state;(c) 3D fully conjugated molecular cages, in which 3D global aromaticity could be attained if π electrons can fully delocalize along the skeleton of the cages, and (d) topological molecular carbons with new properties (e.g. lasing and persistent chirality).
